Upcoming features in v0.5


Hi all!

Wanted to share a couple of updates on what's coming for v0.5, which should be out in a couple of weeks.

Without further ado, here's the new features being added:


MULTI-LANGUAGE SUPPORT

The game is now playable in English (as before) and Portuguese (new). A new menu has been added where you can also select graphics quality. You'll be able to play on Low, Medium or High graphics fidelity


COMPANION SYSTEM

It functions a lot like Skyrim. Take a look:


FACTION SYSTEM

The game now supports factions. If you wear bandit's armor, bandits won't attack you on sight. But attack one of them, even in bandit's armor, and they'll remember you as an enemy.

Updates have also been made to the Forest Wanderers faction living in the Slepbone Cavern beach. You can talk with them to complete the chickens quest with an alternate path (and rewards). In the future, you'll be able to progress within this faction as you gain more affinity by completing their questlines.


SHOP SYSTEM

It was a long time coming, but there are now vendors in the game. They have their limited stock, which will replenish after a couple of in-game days have passed. The video below also shows you the next map in the game, Mountainpass:


FAVORITE ITEMS UI Improvement

It was admitely hard to equip favorite items. I've now added an option to the equipment menu to equip consumables. It's faster and makes more sense now:

MAJOR CODE REFACTOR

The game has been through a major refactor this version 0.5. Save games will be a bit different, so v0.4 progress will probably be messy in v0.5. One of the better code improvements was enemy behaviour. Enemies are now smarter, and won't dodge in the air or get stuck in walls so easily.



NEW WEAPON: LANCE. MORE WEAPONS PLANNED

Right now, we have a new weapon: the lance. I plan to some more weapons before releasing v0.5, along with a new boss fight. Anyway, here's the lance working:
